On Vacation…

Permanent Vacation has been a work in progress for a long time and the fact that it has manifested feels nearly divine. So here’s a little background. My name is Caisa and I have been an esthetician, working in treatment rooms since 2000. I have seen a lot of skin. I have seen a lot of clients for over 20 years. I have aged, they have aged, we have aged together. I have had clients in their teens and clients in their 90s. And seen skin through ALLLLLL the phases of life, with all kinds of different lifestyles, regimens (or lack there of) and I feel confident when I say that I am an expert. There is always plenty to learn and I am still a student to this day, but I have been around the block. And taken my own skin around the block a few times, too. Over all those years I worked with some amazing product lines. Mostly focusing on mostly botanical, mostly plant based products. But not all totally fit in my ethos of what I would want for me or my clients. VERY VERY CLOSE but not totally. Many times I thought, wouldn’t it be amazing if I could have my own product line made to my exact specifications? It seemed impossible and daunting and I am still amazed that I find myself here. Right around the pandemic (y’all know the one) when I had to close my business for 3 months, I started thinking in a different way about how I wanted to live my life. I started studying skincare formulation, inspired by a friends soap making business. At first I thought, “What if I just had one signature product?” And I quickly went down a rabbit hole thinking of what was possible. I continued my studies, working full-time in the treatment room, busy as ever, and planned to maybe retire from the treatment room in a few years to focus solely on making products. I had quickly come out with a few great treatment oils with branding based on my name but not a real clear vision. I’ll keep this story short, but I had a complete mindset shift and lifestyle change happen in the course of a year. All the sudden my husband and I were uprooting our lives in Washington and moving to Oklahoma to homestead with his family, years ahead of the timeline I had imagined. It all fell together so perfectly, which is why I describe it as divine. As we have adjusted to our life here, I have really honed my vision and my purpose for my skincare line. It is a love letter to changing and aging skin, to rejuvenation and restoration, to treating yourself to a little bit of vacation everyday, and a way for me to pour my love, energy and intention out to you, even though we are not in the treatment room. I am sure it will grow and evolve, as we always do. But my commitment will always be to create skincare with your health and vitality my top priority.
